MAS Online? or MAS Off-line?
Malaysian Airlines Systems (MAS) announced on Wed with a big bang and lots of fanfare that they have launched Malaysian Airlines Systems online bookings which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week thru their website www.malaysiaairlines.com. One would think that the facility should be up and running before any media launch. On Thursday when I tried to access MAS website I was greeted with a “Not Ready” screen. Surely all systems should be well tested and up before pressing the “GO” button.
When I tried to visit MAS website again this morning, it took a full 3 minutes for the index page to load, this is incredible since I go on line with broadband ADSL modem not a 33.6K modem!
MAS has received a number of awards for their cabin crew services. This is truly commendable. It will be a shame to allow any off the air services to tarnish the good image. Bear in mind, one bad experience is enough to erase all the past good experiences of customer - that’s the hard facts of doing business in today’s highly competitive arena.
FYI, online access to www.airasia.com is much faster and easier. Looks like big brother Malaysian Airlines Systems or MAS has much to learn from their younger brother Air Asia. ![]()
