What A Specimen
One day, a colleague came to borrow money from me. He was known for this habit. I never like to borrow nor lend money to anyone. My mum taught us well and has instilled in us the principle that we should spend according to what we earn or can afford and must always save up for rainy days. So when this colleague approached me for money (was quite a big sum though I couldn’t remember exactly how much) I apologised and said No.
Instead of going away, he became annoyed and started saying “What for you save up so much money? You’re single with no family commitments…blah…blah…blah…”
I was startled by his outburst.
He was the one who wanted to borrow money and had the cheek to talk to me that way. What sort of attitude! When I recovered from the “shock”, I gave him a piece of my mind and warned him never ever dare come and borrow from me or talk to me that way. All kinds of specimens in this world! ![]()
